Dimapur, August 18: Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation, Railway and Land Resources P. Paiwang Konyak surveyed the site for construction of Civil Helipad, near Mon village, about 5 kms away from Mon Hq on August 16. He visited two sites/locations in order to select the best and suitable site for the helipad.
The Minister said although road connectivity is very important, Nagaland being a hilly terrain, there are often road blockages due to land slide and mudslide, especially during monsoon seasons. Taking this into consideration, the Minister informed that the Government is planning to provide air connectivity to every district hqs. and ADC Hqs so that alternative arrangements can be made during emergencies.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Mon, SP, and party leaders.
