Dimapur, December 8: The Public Action Committee of Naga Council Dimapur is going ahead with the 12-hour bandh on December 10 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
However, in the interest of the public, there would be relaxation for the para-military, police, district administration, wedding duty, funeral, students exam duty, hospitals, medical duty and press and media.
The PAC has appealed to the public for support and cooperation and bear with the inconvenience. It said the bandh would be peaceful, the volunteers which are deployed for the enforcement of the bandh have been asked to maintain strict discipline so that no untoward incident takes place.
Volunteers have been asked not to make fire on the roads as this would damage the roads or create any situation. All the volunteers have been asked to report in their assigned area of operation on or before 4.30 a.m. In case of any person violating the bandh, the concern volunteers leader would tackle and report to the control room at Naga Council office at 7005664039 and 7005440147. The respective tribal hoho presidents are responsible for their volunteers conduct, the PAC said.
The bandh is called to show a strong resentment against the criminal perpetrators
The PAC has requested the passengers travelling by train or flight to reach the destination before the bandh hour to show their support and concern on the burning issues confronting the citizens
