Dimapur, December 21: The Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has again expressed concern over the rampant collection of money in the market and check gates by both state and non-state actors.
In a meeting held Saturday at the NCD office to deliberate on the issue, the PAC NCD while condemning such activities appealed to the authorities to contain their personnel to desist from such acts in the name of Christmas, which the meeting observes, is totally un-Christian and against our religion.
The PAC also appealed to the public to inform/report to District authorities / police to take necessary action.
The PAC NCD also expressed shock and dismay at the Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department for issuing lease systems to collect utility fees, which it said is the main cause of price rise in the market.
“The government have not heeded to the fight by public against such price rise which is clear indication of people unfriendly,” said a release issued by the media cell, PAC-NCD.
In this regard, the PAC NCD informed all tribal hohos to be ready with volunteers for any action any time. The meeting further resolved that the committee will take up any action deem fit in the larger interest of the public. (Page News Service)
