PAC meet stresses on community policing

Dimapur, October 22: A meeting of the Public Action Committee (PAC) with Dimapur Urban GBs, Dimapur Urban Colony Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) and ADCP Dimapur stressed on the need of community policing to curb illegal activities.
The meeting was of the view that every member of a colony or village has the responsibility to act for the welfare of the people as the police cannot reach every nook and corner all the time.
Any illegal collection may be reported to the village/colony authority, who in-turn should report the matter to the police and not take the law into one’s own hand, it was discussed. The house was of the view that it is the duty of every citizens, colonies, villages, civil societies to work together and eradicate illegal collections of money and make Dimapur district a better place to live.
In the meeting, the members appreciated the PAC for the steps taken to check illegal collections of money by State and non-state actors.
