PAC decries forced closure of transport enterprise

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21: The Public Action Committee (PAC) today informed that the East India Transport Agency, Dimapur, a franchise run by two Naga lady entrepreneurs had been forcefully closed down on October 19.
The PAC said, on further inquiry, it was found that the shutter of the shop has been forcefully locked as the proprietors did not comply with the syndicate’s dictates and notices on unabated taxation, which is prevalent in the transport agencies in Nagaland.
In a press release issued by its media cell, the PAC said it stands for protection of the law- abiding citizens of Dimapur from such unlawful, arbitrary and unreasonable actions by unscrupulous elements.
Stating that Dimapur is the main trade and commerce centre of Nagaland, the PAC said there should not be any such obstruction nor discrimination against genuine citizens but allow free enterprise and the right to operate their businesses smoothly without any obstructions.
PAC further demanded that the culprits should be arrested within 7 days as it would not tolerate any form of anti-social activities and “dada-giri” with no respect to the rule of law of the land. (Page News Service)
