Dimapur, October 27: On the last day of the DFL organized by the Naga United FC, the match was played between Ekhyo FC and Dorian’s FC at DDSC stadium on 27 October resulting in 2-2 goal draw.
The champions trophy went to P. Vizheto FC with highest points during the league and walked away with a cash prize money of Rs 1, 50, 000 and a citation. However, the P. Vizheto FC donated Rs 50, 000 to the Organizers out of the prize money. The runners up, FC Alianza walked away with a cash prize money of Rs 70, 000 and a citation.
All the participating clubs were given citations.
The first edition of DFL saw 240 players from 8 clubs and a total of 75 goals scored.
Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, retired Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland was the Special Invitee who gave away prizes to the winning clubs and individual winners.
During his speech, Dr. Sukhato encouraged the players to take chance of every opportunity and strive towards excellence bringing laurels to the society and the nation. “In everything you do, give your best and put your faith in God who will take care of all your needs”, Dr. Sukhato said.
Convenor, DFL, Shiyeto Wotsa in his concluding remarks thanked the special invitees of the inaugural and closing ceremonies, all the match patrons, DDFA, DDFRA, advisors, donors, various business associations of Dimapur, volunteers and all those who extended their support and cooperation towards successful completion of the DFL.
Meanwhile, the entry ticket for the closing ceremony which was converted into a lucky draw could not be held since some of the coupons were yet to submitted back to the organizers and could not ascertain which numbers were sold or unsold thus making it difficult for the lucky draw to take place. The date of draw will be notified in the newspaper and the result will also be published.
