Orientation programme for Head teachers of Govt schools held at Mon

Dimapur, May 25: District Education Mission Office, Samagra Shiksha Mon organized a One-Day Orientation Programme for Head Teachers of Government Schools under Mon District on May 25 at Council Hall, Mon.
I Moala Aier, SDEO Tizit, DEO in charge of Mon, while delivering the keynote address, thanked and requested them to utilize the school library book issued by the School Education Department.
She said, “Let the children read the books and inculcate reading habits and in their later age they will develop reading skills and understand better what they are reading.”
She also added that, if you can read, you can learn anything about everything and everything about anything. She also wishes that through this programme many teachers will be more reliable, oriented, and responsible and implement all programmes laid down by the Department which will ultimately lead to success and achievement in the district.
Wanme, Associate Professor, DIET Mon, gave a brief description of the roles and functions of school heads in light of National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020. He said, as responsible head teachers, each should be thorough with the Documents Policy of Education and added that it is like a Bible in the educational system. He highlighted the key principles of NEP 2020 like recognizing the individual differences, flexibility and the structure of NEP 2020 is 5+3+3+4. He called upon the head teachers to be great teachers, create more leaders, etc for the betterment of society.
Watlong Yanlem. ToT EBRC Mon, Explained on Universal Design for Learning (UDL). She said that UDL is an approach to curriculum that minimizes barriers and maximizes learning for all students. The way the students learn is different. Each student in the classroom brings their own background, strength, needs, and interests. The curriculum should provide genuine learning opportunities for each and every student.
A total of 176 head teachers attended the programme.

Kent and Shalo Kent, IE Resource Person, FLN by Bangshing S Konyak, ToT EBRC Wakching, Vidya Pravesh by Manli, ToT EBRC Aboi, Records maintenance, Accounts & PFMS by James Ngushu Konyak, Assistant District Coordinator. There was also an interaction session.
