Organizations condemn murder of Lt Miasalhou

Kohima, May 20: Various organizations have condemned the murder of Mezomia Mechü Krotho (MMK) president and Political Assistant to Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou by two youths in Kohima on May 18 at Phoolbari area Kohima.
ASU: The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) said it is utterly shocked and perturbed by the incident.
At a time when tranquillity and brotherhood is prevailing amongst the society, such barbaric acts can never be accepted in our homeland, said ASU president Khriesamhalie David Mere and general secretary Vimeyiekho Vitsu.
The ASU vehemently condemned the act of felony by the two youths, namely Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie, who resorted to such heinous acts and alarmed the peaceful citizens of Kohima.
The union earnestly appealed to the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned in investigating the matter and totally ensure that justice is delivered on priority.
Furthermore, it appealed to all peace loving citizens to stand in solidarity during this time of perplexity and have faith in the law of the land.
The ASU also extended its utmost support and participation in delivering justice to the bereaved soul and prayed that his soul rest in eternal peace.
NDBA: The Nagaland Dobashi Association said the inhuman act committed by the two individuals is deeply distressing and condemned the inhuman crime/act committed to a highly respectable and elderly person’s life.
While appreciating the law enforcement agencies for the arrest of the two individuals, the NDBA president Vikheho Sema further urged the investigating agency to take the matter with all seriousness and deliver timely justice.
With the demise of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, the Naga society and the NDBA have lost one tall leader of the day.
The NDBA extended sympathy and deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace
KVYO: The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) has also vehemently denounced the appalling physical assault on Lt. Miasalhou and his son Thejavizo B. Miasalhou.
The two perpetrators Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie of Kohima village after their despicable act, ruthlessly left Lt. Miasalhou unconscious which ultimately led to his demise, said KVYO president Vituony? Khezhie and vice president Dr. Richard Dzüvichü
The KVYO asserted its services in any capacity to bring about justice to the victim and his family and also appealed to the law enforcing agencies to expedite the investigation and book the culprits under appropriate sections of law. The KVYO further conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
AWO: The Angami Women Organisation (AWO) said it is shocked and is in deep anguish to hear of the inhuman brutality meted to an elderly and respected leader Miasalhou.
The incident has taken place in broad daylight and in the middle of Kohima town has not only shamed the Angamis but has also tarnished the good image of the capital of Nagaland, said AWO president Neithono R.Sothu and general secretary Shyien Vihienuo.
The AWO condemned the heinous act and urged upon the competent authority to deliver justice to the victim without delay.
It also conveyed deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family and stood in support with them at this time of grief and sorrow.
The AWO also appealed to all concerned to remain calm and refrain from any action that may aggravate the situation.
ASA: The Angami Sports Association (ASA) said it is deeply pained by the crime committed. ASA president Ruokuovikho Chale, Information & Publicity secretary Sahovi John Phinyo and general secretary Menguphrezo Ziephrü said the fraternity as a whole denounces and condemn such heinous acts of assault by sports-person which led to the ultimate demise of Lt. Miasalhou.
Vowing appropriate action on the two perpetrators in due course of time, ASA appealed to its wrestling and sporting fraternity to exercise prudence in all walks of life and maintain the values expected and befitting of a sports person in the society.
ASA also urged the law enforcement agency to expedite the investigation and book the culprits under appropriate sections of the law.
ASA said Lt. Miasalhou as a prominent leader of the Angami community had contributed to the society in numerous acts of social service.
ASA also conveyed sincere condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that our Almighty God give the solace they need and may the soul of our dearest leader rest in peace.
KVC: The Kohima Village Council (KVC) strongly condemned the inhuman act committed and requested the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation so that justice is not delayed and book the culprits under the appropriate section of law and give exemplary punishments of the highest order.
KVC chairman Helievi-o Solo conveyed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family members of the Lt. Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
KGC: The Kiruphema General Council (KGC) today issued a strong condemnation of the murder of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, a prominent leader of the Western Angami region and the current political assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima.
The KGC called upon the authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime and emphasized on the need for a thorough investigation and the prompt prosecution of those responsible to prevent such tragedies in the future.
It further appealed to all individuals and groups to refrain from interfering with the authorities’ procedures in this matter.
