Dimapur, May 1: Following the directives of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, the Hazi Park Business Welfare Committee today enforced the fresh guidelines in Hongkong market, according to which only 30% shops will open daily.
The Committee had on April 24 enforced 50% opening of shops in Hongkong Market, but with the latest order from the Deputy Commissioner, it has strictly maintained that less shops will open to reduce the crowd.
Accordingly, today shops were opened in odd-even system in the outer areas, while in the long rows inside, shops on one side of the row remained closed. This alternate system will follow till further orders, Hukato P Achumi, President, HPBWC said.
Talking to Nagaland Page, Achumi said that corona virus has become dangerous now as more and more people are getting infected. Therefore, he said they are concerned for the safety of the shopkeepers as well as the customers. He said with the new SOP, there will be fewer crowds in the market.
He also advised the shopkeepers to follow the DC’s order strictly and see that only 33% shops are open in order to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Achumi also advised them to maintain social distancing, wear masks compulsorily and use hand sanitizers and also insists customers to do the same.
