One-week total lockdown of Nagaland from May 14

Dimapur, May 11: Nagaland Government has announced total lockdown of the State starting from 6 pm of May 14 to 21.

This was decided in a meeting of the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 held at the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex in Kohima on Tuesday morning.

Existing restrictions will continue till the total lockdown is in place, stated a press release from the Committee.

Exemptions have been made for essential services, including agricultural activities. Government departments will continue to function with a core team formed by the Heads of respective Departments.

“Construction activities may be permitted but the contractor and firms will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all SOPs for the workers. During the lockdown period, Health & Family Welfare Department may pursue aggressive testing, utilising the full testing capacity of the COVID-19 laboratories,” it informed.

New SOPs will be issued soon.
