On rising prices of vegetables in Dimapur

Dear Madam,
The sudden increase in prices of vegetables in Dimapur market is surprising. Same vegetables have different rates with different vendors, which means that there is no mechanism to regulate prices or fix prices of vegetables. A month back, the Dimapur Municipal Council installed an electronic Rate Control Board in New Market so that people are aware of the prices, but things are totally different. Those selling vegetables on footpaths have different rates, while those permanent vendors have, of course, higher rates. This needs to be checked. It is OK for those people who can afford higher rates but people people cannot afford to pay high prices. The DMC should step in to check the prices.
Wati, Dimapur
