Through this columm, I would like to draw the attention of the district administration and the concerned authorities that prices of essential commodities, especially vegetables are rising day by day, with no mechanism to check the prices in Dimapur. The general public is feeling the pinch already when they go to buy vegetables from market. While the prices of certain vegetables was cheaper during the lockdown period, it has suddenly shot up after the markets are fully open with no restrictions. The Dimapur Municipal Council and the DCCI should check this rise in prices of essential commodities for the benefit of the general public.
