Through this column, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities about the poor quality works of the so-called ‘footpaths’ being constructed in Dimapur town. Putting cemented slabs over the drains and turning into a footpath might look a great idea, but those undertaking the work needs to put in quality. The slabs are coming out within two-three days of being put as the workmanship is very poor. The current footpath constructed from City Tower to Popular Bakery is the best example where the cemented slabs have been put but are breaking away within few days. Such kind of works was also observed in other parts of the town, but rectified when people raised questions.
