The NDA Government seems to be so adamant to pass the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha despite large scale opposition in the Northeastern states. It evens knows that the Bill will not stand a chance to be passed as the NDA has no majority in Rajya Sabha, but it is still trying to put up the Bill for discussion. The Government should not play with the sentiments of the indigenous people of the Northeast, who have genuine fears of large scale influx from Bangladesh if the Bill is passed. The northeastern states are already overburden with the illegal immigrants who have settled in the Region. The NDA Government should avoid pushing such a Bill which is not beneficial to the people of the country.
