Dimapur, May 5: The Office of the Protector of Emigrants, Guwahati is now functioning from the premises of the Regional Passport Office, Guwahati.
The office, with jurisdiction over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, is mandated under Emigration Act, 1983 to take care of large number of people migrating abroad from the 7 NE States and provide proper guidance and assistance.
