Odd-even system to continue till Aug 18

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2: Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, in an order issued on August 1, stated that the Odd-Even System for movement of private vehicles will continue to be implemented under Kohima Municipal area as per Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 on all days except Sundays, as mentioned hereunder:


Odd numbered vehicles: On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (e.g. 1,3,5,7,9) shall be allowed to ply.
Even Numbered vehicles: On Tuesdays. Thursdays and Saturdays, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (e.g. 2.4.6,8.0) shall be allowed to ply.
Violation of this restriction Order will be liable to be penalised under Sections 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
The order would be implemented with immediate effect and shall remain enforced till August 18 for the strict compliance of all concerned, he stated.
Dimapur:
Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo has informed that essential movement of all vehicles within Dimapur District would continue to ply in Odd-Even system from August 1 to 18.

Violation of this restriction Order will be liable to be penalised under Sections 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. Exempted category shall be exempted, he said adding all officers and staff in the exempted category should carry Identity Card issued by respective HoD.
