‘Odd-Even’ system extended in Kohima till Oct 31

Dimapur, September 30: Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS has issued an order extending the ‘Odd-Even’ system for movement of private vehicles, including public transport (taxis and city buses) under the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal areas, except on Sundays, till October 31.
As per the system odd numbered (Eg. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) vehicles will ply on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while even numbered (Eg. 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) vehicles will be allowed to ply on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
However, the prohibition and restriction of movement of vehicles will not apply to press and two-wheelers (without pillion rider); vehicles carrying emergency medical equipments, essential commodities, LPG cylinders and oil tankers and inter-State trucks carrying essential commodities bound for the state of Manipur.
The order said all permits/ exemptions issued earlier shall stand cancelled with immediate effect. (Page News Service)
