Dimapur, May 2: In commemorating the International Labour Day on May 1, the Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has urged the State Government to adopt the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014.
In a release, NVCO said two years ago it had launched awareness campaign on Street Vendors Act, 2014 and appealed the State Government to implement the same. The NVCO assured the people to continue the awareness campaign on the Act as it is very much important and necessary for the citizens to promote and protect their livelihood and this is going to improve state economy by encouraging the local vendors to promote local product especially organic vegetables and fruits.
