NVCO launches consumer awareness campaign

Dimapur, November 16: The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) officially launched its 2nd phase state-wide consumer awareness campaign on November 12.
In a release, NVCO said today the consumers in the State are exploited in several areas such as temporary price-rise on essential as well as non-essential commodities, safety of food available in the market, rice distribution to AAY & PHH under National Food Security Act 2013, bad roads, etc.
The NVCO sought cooperation from the people/institutions/churches/civil societies in the conduct of consumer awareness programmes and also appealed all citizens of the State to come together for promotion and protection of consumer rights especially in the fight against illegal collection of cash at check-gates and on highways as consumers are paying all these taxes by way of price-rise in the market.
The NVCO also thanked Union Baptist Church, Kohima for giving opportunity to its president Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate to participate in a programme called ‘Hard Talk on consumer awareness campaign related to foods safety and security on November 17.
