NVBDCP visits Kiphire aspirational district


Dimapur, April 26: The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare led by Dr. I. Talitemsula Jamir (Jt.Director) along with the monitoring team visited Aspirational district, Kiphire as Supportive & Supervisory Monitoring activity. The team covered Pungro sub-division, Kiphire Sadar and also Seyochung sub-division. A meeting was held on April 23 at GA Guest house, Pungro along with the chairmen/representatives/ stakeholders of 9 wards and proposed to adopt Pungro as Model Town for reduction of Malaria case which was very high in the year 2018.
The team also took park at World Malaria Observation at Seyochung town on April 25 wherein the State Programme Officer, Dr. I. Talitemsula Jamir exhorted the students to take active part for Malaria Elimination.
Dr. Neisakho Kere (Dy.Director) also spoke on the occasion and with the quote, “Prevention is better than cure” with which he impress upon the students/public of Seyochung town for every individual to contribute towards Malaria Elimination as the them reads, ‘Zero Malaria starts with Me’.
The team also visited Aghunato block, Satakha Block, Pughoboto block under Zunheboto district on April 25 and 26 which was followed by a meeting at DVBO office Zunheboto.
SPO NVBDCP highlighted the performance of all categories of staffs under the programme and also instill upon them not to be complacent as the programme targets to move towards eliminating Malaria by the year 2022.
