Nutrition Day cum-Mobile health camp held at Kiphire

Dimapur, May 11: Medical team from the Chief Medical Officer’s Office and District Hospital Kiphire conducted Village Health Nutrition Day-cum-Mobile Medical Unit ‘Health Camp’ on May 10.
The team was led by Dr. Tinurenla Anichari, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Dr. Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP). Altogether, 9 medical personnel (including medical officers and staffs) conducted the health camp.
The team covered four villages namely Ngoromi, New Longmatra, Azetso, and Aso. The medical team carried outreach routine immunisation, Ante Natal Check-up (ANC), including nutritional support and distribution of medicine. The medical officials also interacted with the village council leaders in the villages.
Several patients were attended especially elderly who could not avail medical facility due to the lockdown issues. Also, the village leaders were briefed on Covid-19 and the role of public villagers on how to fight covid-19 together through community participation.
It must be mentioned that in all the villages, cleanliness and sanitation issues were briefed. In addition, social distance was maintained during the whole course of the activities.
The medical team was impressed with the role of the villagers in their erection of Covid-19 gate in front of their villages, wherein, prior permission was required before the entry. (Page News Service)
