The 2nd semester (final) Diploma Courses like Mass Com/CNTLS would not be considered for promotion without Exams.
Controller of Examinations, Nagaland University, Dr Maongsangba stated that the grading/award of marks for promoting eligible 2nd semester students would be in line with the UGC guidelines issued on April 29 regarding conduct of examination, wherein 50% weightage would be awarded on the basis of internal/continuous evaluation marks of 2nd semester and 50% weightage would be awarded on the basis of previous semesters (i.e. 1st semester) average marks. In case if any student is having backlog in 1st semester, the weightage of 50% would be considered from the average of the subjects passed in the 1st semester.
The Controller of Examination has asked all HODs of Academic departments to submit the Internal Assessment marks of 2nd semester students to his office, NU HQ Lumami. The resumption of next semester would be notified as per the revised academic calendar.
This provision for promotion of intermediate semesters is only for the current academic session (2019-20) in view of COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining the safety and health of all stakeholders and sanctity and quality of examinations, the Controller stated. (Page News Service)
