Ntl milk quality survey conducted in State


Dimapur, June 13: Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which is conducting the national milk quality survey across India, has selected Kohima, Dimapur as sample collection spots for Nagaland.
A team of Hyderabad based Vimta Laboratory, appointed by FSSAI to conduct the survey arrived Dimapur on June 13.
According to officials, they collected milk samples from vendors, processing plants and retail shops at different points and the collected samples will be check on amount of adulterant, antibiotics, pesticide. The samples will be sent to FSSAI laboratory for analysis.
The visiting team was supported by State support team with mobile lab, food safety personnel and in sample collection.
Earlier the team collected samples from various sources in Kohima on June 12.
The team will check the milk quality along with the amount of adulterant, antibiotics, pesticide if they are present in a sample. The study will reveal the quality of milk of the State.
The quality survey has been carried out by FSSAI independently and the State supports them with mobile lab, food safety personnel and sample collection. (Page News Service)
