NTC urges GoI to conclude talks

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, JULY 20: Claiming that the “right message” of the people of Nagaland has been sent to the Centre, the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has once again urged Government of India to conclude the Indo-Naga process “on the basis of the mutual closure of talks on October 31, 2019, before 2023 State Assembly Elections”.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Council stated that at a time when the Naga public is weary and impatient in view of the political solution being long overdue, “the timely interjection of the 4-point resolution of the Parliamentary Committee on the Naga Political Issue as one of the facilitators is most appreciated”.

“The Nagaland Tribes Council welcomes each point of the resolution and heartily congratulates the 60 MLAs for having rightly encouraged and admonished the political negotiators”, it stated.

Also, the NTC maintained that the definite objective of Naga Political Groups entering into ceasefire with the Government of India is to have the logical end of solution.

“All those official engagements between the entities are not indeed meant for futile exercise”, it stated.
