NTC on threat to 4-lane road project


Dimapur, August 28: The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has urged the State Government and the NHIDCL to immediately intervene over the reported threat to the smooth progress of ongoing Dimapur-Kohima four lane highway project so that the work will continue without any hindrance.
Expressing shock by the reports of some elements creating disturbance to the smooth progress of the work, the NTC in a statement said, “The report is viewed with all seriousness and considered as a threat to our basic life and development since the highway is the only lifeline connecting Nagaland with the rest of the world.”
All attention of the public is on the ongoing Dimapur-Kohima four lane highways which is a life line for Nagaland and we cannot compromise with its quality workmanship and timely completion, it said.
The NTC reminded that the Executive Director, NHIDCL had assured that 25% of the work will be completed by the end of 2018 and the project will be accomplished by the end of 2019 and accordingly specific instructions were been given to the contractors at various intervals.
The NTC also requested the public in the locality to extend all possible cooperation during this crucial period.
