Dimapur, February 1: The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has welcomed the joining of the NSCN/GPRN(K) headed by Lt. Gen.(Rtd) Khango Konyak in the Working Committee, NNPGs on their own volition for the sake of Naga unity and also to strengthen the ongoing political negotiation, terming it as a benchmark in the history of Naga discord and the subsequent reconciliation.
“The unconditional joining of NSCN/GPRN(K) with fellow NNPGs and to be part of Working Committee in the negotiation has proved the magnanimity and maturity of the political leadership. The decisiveness of the leadership is the right approach towards the objective of inclusive process towards the desired solution,” it said in a press release.
“What the Deputy National Security Adviser RN Ravi, the Interlocutor has asserted that by now ‘there is no one left out’ in the political negotiation is no more an exaggeration,” it said, adding the NSCN/GPRN(K) action has revitalized the political spirit of the Nagas.
The NTC also appreciated the reaffirmation of the decision of Working Committee on inter-group defection, which became rampant lest curbed with iron hand. At this juncture, the Nagas cannot afford to give due importance to such treacherous political gimmicks in the midst of charting out our destiny by our political negotiators, it said.
The NTC appealed to Nagas to stand united behind the unity of the NNPGs and lend prayerful support to the negotiation process. It again urged the GoI to hasten the process so as to bring the exercises to its logical conclusion on time.
