NTC files RTI on appointment of Advisors

Dimapur, March 26: The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has sought information from the Chief Minister’s Office, Nagaland, under what constitutional provisions and law the Chief Minister has appointed 20 Members of the Legislative Assembly as Advisors to various departments to the Government of Nagaland.
Filing an RTI application, the NTC asked the CMO to furnish the constitutional provisions and relevant law under which the 20 MLAs were appointed as Advisors.
The NTC also sought information on what authority has created/enacted the post of those Advisors, and the powers and functions of those MLAs as Advisors?
It also sought to know the status and facilities of those Advisors, the perks, salaries and allowances of those Advisors and whether those Advisors are holding any office of profit that has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court by judgment dated July 26, 2017 in transferred Case (Civil) No 169/2017 Bimalangshu Roy-vs-State of Assam & Ors.
The NTC requested the CMO to furnish the reasons with supportive documents within the time prescribed by the Act. (Page News Service)
