Dimapur, May 6: Naga Students Union Kolkata (NSUK) today said that they have been waiting for the Government of Nagaland for early evacuation of stranded Nagas in West Bengal, but till date they have not received any official directive.
Stating that they have been receiving numerous calls from stranded Nagas in West Bengal, the Union said many of them are finding it difficult to survive since they have exhausted their ration and money and for which majority of stranded people are apprehensive.
The Union said it is not in a position to rehabilitate or give them relief, and requested the Nagaland Government to give a clear directive as to when stranded Nagas in West Bengal would be evacuated to Nagaland.
“If the Government of Nagaland is not in a position to give a clear directive on it we shall arrange the transportation on our own in consultation with the stranded people and Nagaland House authority,” it said.
It further requested the Government of Nagaland to movement permit to cross West Bengal, Assam and enter Nagaland. (Page News Service)
