Dimapur, August 6: The National Students Union of India Nagaland (NSUIN) has alleged that the Directorate of Technical Education has flouted the rules by selecting provisional candidates basing on the normalization of marks obtained in HSSLC.
Expressing surprise that the notification issued by the Directorate on August 4 last, the NSUI said there has been no mention of such procedure for selection anywhere in the Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE) application form 2020.
It said the students were required to pay an amount of Rs 200 along with the application form. The deadline was further extended till June 15 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Directorate’s notification has come as shock for hundreds of students who were preparing for the entrance examination.
The NSUI demanded to know as to what prompted the department to give away the seats without conducting exams through NSEE.
It also demanded nullification of the notification no. DTE/ESTT-2/12/2018-19(pt) issued by the Directorate of Technical Education and ensure free and fair test at an appropriate time.
