NSU affirms resolution

Dimapur, July 15: Nkio Students’ Union (NSU) has resolved to respect and honour ancestral land boundaries and history of the land and continue to resolutely uphold Resolution No. 2 (b) & (c) of the Nkio Pumling Council (NPC) adopted on July 29, 2012 at Old Nkio Village Council hall.

A press release from the union on Thursday informed that this was decided at its first executive meeting held at Mungleu Resort, Samzuiram, Jalukie on July 10.
“Resolution No. 2 (b) & (c) states that Nkio Pumling Council strictly prohibits unauthorised selling of land by any individual(s) or group(s) within Nkio jurisdiction and asserts to resort to punitive action against the defaulter; and any individual(s) or clan(s), in the past or in the days to come, without the knowledge or consent of the Nkio Pumbling Council, indulging themselves in such illegal selling of land shall remain unacceptable and void,” it stated.
NSU warned that any individual, group, or khel/clan going against the 2012 resolution of the NPC will so be doing at their own risk, and responsible for any untoward incident that may take place in future.
The new NSU team includes President Dr. Pauzieleubo; General Secretary Obed; Finance Secretary Nzamhingbe; Information & Publicity Secretary Keyinreulu; Games & Sports Secretary Haisoyibo; and Treasurer Haisotet. (Page News Service)
