Dimapur, May 31: NSSATA (Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association) Central and district executives have decided to resume the 2nd phase of agitation on June 1 and continue till June 5.
The NSSATA stated that on May 1, the Association had met Advisor, Education Department on invitation, and also had a consultative meeting with the Chief Secretary on May 3 and a meeting with the Director at the Directorate on May 10 and 12.
However, the Department was unable to give any substantial response and as a result of which, the association was compelled to initiate the 1st and 2nd phases of agitation, which was in the form of Pen Down Strike and Boycotting of class.
As a result of the failure of the negotiations thus far, the Association is left with no choice but to initiate the 3rd phase of agitation from June 6, which would be the in the form of Sit in Protest at the Directorate, Education Department.
It has directed all the members from all the districts to gather at the Directorate of School Education, Kohima on June 6 at 8 a.m. sharp.
Stating that the NSSATA 2010 & 2013 batch have been undergoing untold difficulties and had been receiving step motherly treatment from the Department from the time of appointment till date, appealed to all right thinking citizens to support the Association as strive for the welfare of the aggrieved teachers. The Association also resolved that it will continue to endure all hardships and will continue with the different phases of agitation, till justice is delivered. (Page News Service)
