NSRLM conducts workshop on livelihood action plan


KOHIMA, JUNE 10: A three days workshop on preparation of Livelihoods Action Plan for FY 2018-19 under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) was conducted from June 6 to 8 at AIDA Dimapur for 18 blocks in 9 districts of the State.
Participants of the workshop were the Districts Functional Specialists (DFS) from the 9 districts and facilitated by Dr. Sokishumo Kithan, SPM (Livelihoods) NSRLM with National Resource Persons Madhabananda Ray and Lutfur Rahman.
Athel O. Lotha, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Nagaland NRLM graced the valedictory programme. In a short speech, she exhorted the participants to work sincerely and contribute in improving the living standard of the SHG members and the rural community at large. She also assured the Mission’s commitment to extend full support in all Livelihoods Interventions as planned by the Livelihoods team during the workshop.
Key interventions under livelihood component of NSRLM for this year include sustainable agriculture practices; propagation of nutrition garden and organic farming; poultry and piggery interventions; establishment of custom hiring centres in the Village Level Organizations (VLO) among others.
