Dimapur, February 16: The Naga Students’ Organization (NSO) Myanmar has made a fervent appeal to both Myanmar Army and NSCN-K to resolve the three weeks long stand-off between the two by respecting the 2012 peace agreement.
In a statement, NSO president T.Mankhat Konyak said the NSO as the guardian of students’ community is deeply worried about the unfortunate situation that disturbs the up coming Myanmar matriculation examination in March.
Stating that “for the past three decades and little more, the educational system was crushed, justice and human rights was murdered and all our poor present were sacrificed for the rich future generations,” the NSO said the present generation at least don’t want to see the ugly historical repetition instead of development and nurturing young students through different strategies.
The NSO also expressed surprise at the “unexpected silence” of the government authorities and Naga CSOs, and why the situation is allowed to go on. It requested all believers to uphold in prayer and urged every right thinking Naga citizens to come forward “as we always are”.
