NSLSA trains legal literacy club members

Dimapur, June 24: In order to ensure the smooth functioning of the Legal Literacy Clubs and to further familiarize the teachers-in-charge and members of the club of their duties and activities, the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority with the District Legal Services Authorities conducted induction training programme in the districts of Longleng, Wokha, Mon, Dimapur, Zunheboto and Phek by their respective District Legal Services Authority in the month of May 2018. Kohima, Kiphire, Tuensang, Mokokchung and Peren conducted the induction training in June 2018. Altogether 622 students, 43 teacher in-charge from 42 schools from the 11 districts of Nagaland were trained.
The programme was divided into two sessions. In the first session – effective methods to establish Legal Literacy Clubs/policy and its performance were explained while in the second session the students were apprised about community based engagement and networking. The students were encouraged to act and be alert even beyond the confines of the club activities.
The students were also briefed about various law topics such as Domestic Violence, Child Labour, Maintenance of Senior citizens, Dowry, Female Foeticide, Fundamental Duties, Environment, etc.
