NSLSA reaches Mitelephe village


Kohima, February 28: The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) today held a legal services camp in the in Mitelephe village to sensitize the villagers on the legal services and various public welfare schemes, besides conducting free medical treatment.

An official of the Directorate of Labour, Seyievio Neihu highlighted the salient features of the Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Scheme and invited the villagers to be part of the beneficiary.
Several construction workers availed on spot registration through this camp.
In association with the labour department, the NSLSA have been putting its best effort in identifying and connecting the construction workers to this scheme in Nagaland.
A legal aid stall was set up to create awareness among the villagers on their rights, security and privileges as enshrined in the Constitution of India and also through penal lawyers. Pamphlets on the legal rights printed in Tenyidie were distributed to the villagers.
Showing solidarity to this camp, the medical fraternity also extended free medical treatment and medicines.
NSLSA member secretary Nino Iralu said that NSLSA is planning to expand the coverage of the legal services camp by involving the district administration for enrolment of Aadhaar related matter, banking authority for financial literacy programme, statistical department for birth registration and other survey related matter as well as post office for beneficial schemes.
As part of the camp, free medical health check up along with medicine was provided to the villages. They were also informed about the facilities for pregnant and lactating mothers. They were also informed about the various schemes under Women and Social Welfare Department.
