NSLSA digitize legal services clinic in jail across State

KOHIMA, February 25: Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) under the guidance of National Legal Services Authority carried out the digitization of Legal Services Clinic (LSC) in all the jails of Nagaland on February 14-24.
The project is aimed to maintain proper record keeping of the activities in such clinics and to have data with regard to the court cases pertaining to each prisoner readily accessible in the said clinics. Prisoner data is to be maintained in local computers which can be accessed by the digitized Legal Services Clinic in the respective jails. Particulars of the orders passed by various courts, next date of hearing etc, this along with the names of advocate representing the UTPs in the courts will help and ensure that no UTPs remain unrepresented.
The digitization of LSC in Kohima jail was launched by Victo Sema, CJM and Secretary Kohima DLSA on February 14, N. Suyie, District & Sessions Judge and Chairman Zunheboto DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Zunheboto jail on February 15, Seyielenuo Mezhu, JMFC and Secretary Wokha DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Wokha jail on February 16, Khape Koza, Principal District & Session Judge and Chairman Mokokchung DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Mokokchung jail on February 17.
Bangwao Konyak, Superintendent of Mon district jail launched the digitization of LSC in Mon jail on February 18, Nokshei Kano, JMFC & Secretary Tuensang DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Tuensang jail on February 19, M.T. Therieh, CJM & Secretary Kiphire DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Kiphire jail on February 20.
N. Lonshithung Ezung, District & Sessions Judge and Chairman Phek DLSA launched the digitization of LSC in Phek jail on February 21, Hukato Swu, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of Peren DLSA and Dimapur DLSA inaugurated the digitization of LSC at Peren Jail on February 23 and LSC at Dimapur Central jail on February 24, while Nikaho Yepthomi, Deputy Superintendent of Dimapur District jail inaugurated the LSC at Dimapur District jail on February 24.
The LSCs were provided with computer desktop, printer, internet connectivity and stationeries. (Page News Service)
