Dimapur, February 22: Considering the “rampant practice of backdoor appointments” in all Government Departments, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today served an ultimatum to Nagaland Chief Minister with a 4-point charter of demanded to be complied within 15 days.
The ultimatum signed by NSF President, Ninoto Awomi and General Secretary, Liremo R Kikon besides 15 other signatories from different student bodies, demanded approval and implementation of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) policy forwarded to the Government by the NSSB Committee.
It also demanded the Chief Minister to issue notification scrapping all department exams, notification banning direct recruitment to all Group C posts and notification stating that ‘Group C’ posts shall be requisitioned through open recruitment by the soon to be set up Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB).
The NSF, in its 2nd presidential meeting, resolved that it would boycott all departmental exams. It said the Federation would maintain a strict watch over any new developments pertaining to their demands and any actions in contravention to the same by any department would be dealt with a befitting manner by the Federation.
The NSF further appealed to the Government of Nagaland to comply with the demands of the Federation and enforce the same, adding, “failure to do which the Federation shall be compelled to take up its own course of stern action until the demands of the Federation are met.”
