DIMAPUR, JANUARY 11: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has reiterated its call to ‘ban’ the departmental exam for recruitment to various Group C posts under Public Health Engineering Department, scheduled for January 13.
A press release by the Federation on Monday stated that it cannot allow the proposed exam to take place as it undermines the very principle of meritocracy.
“Further, it defeats the very principle of providing a level playing field to everyone aspiring to serve the State Government as a Group C employee by constituting the NSSB. In light of the above, the Federation is constrained to warn the Department concerned that if any actions in defiance of the above stated stand of the Federation are initiated, the officials of the Department shall be held solely responsible for any unwanted consequences thereafter,” it stated.
Also, the Federation appealed to the aspiring candidates to cooperate and abstain from appearing for the departmental examination “in our collective bid to uphold and protect the future of the youths and students community”.
It expressed appreciation to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his Cabinet colleagues “for the sincere efforts being put into to ensure that reservation policy of the state is completely revamped and rationalised”.
However, it asserted, the exercise needs to be completed before February 15.
