NSF greets PM, HM with silent protest for solution delay

NSF protest

KOHIMA, MARCH 7: Amid jubilation for second term of NDPP-BJP Government, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with a silent protest for delaying solution to the ongoing peace process with Naga groups.
The Prime Minister and Home Minister, who were here to attend the swearing-in ceremony of NDPP-BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, were greeted by NSF at the old MLA Hostel junction with banners demanding solution. They demanded for inclusive, honourable and acceptable solution. They also asked the PM to honour his commitment to resolve the issue.
Modi was seen waving hands at the crowd and NSF on his way to the swearing-in ceremony at the State Cultural Hall.
The protest by the students assumes significance when, apart from PM and Home Minister, BJP’s troubleshooter and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma, who is currently engaged in Naga peace process, and saffron party president, JP Nadda attended the ceremony.
The NSF has been in the forefront for early resolution to the decades-old Naga political problem.
Recently there was also another such protest rally in the national capital.
The BJP said peace talk will continue after the State poll, expressing confidence of solution.
