NSF asks Govt to regulate coaching institutes

Dimapur, April 13: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed to the State Government to regulate the mushrooming of coaching institutes in the State.
In a representation to Nagaland Chief Secretary, the NSF said pointed out that with the increasing number of candidates appearing for competitive examinations year after year, and with an eye on clearing the examination, a good number of aspirants for competitive examinations are seeking admission to the mushrooming coaching institutes in the State.
However, NSF lamented that with no proper guideline for functioning of these coaching institutes and no mechanism being set to monitor the fee structuring, the candidates applying for admission to the private coaching institutes are compelled to pay the fees as set by the institutes regardless of the facilities and faculty that is being provided to the aspirants.
In this connection, the federation appealed to the CS to initiate strict verification of the existing coaching institutes, frame out regulations for approval of establishing new coaching institutes, set fee structure as per the facilities that are made available for the students and to taken into account the location of the institutes for conducive studying environment.
