Dimapur, August 2: Nagaland will receive moderate to heavy rainfall on August 3, while heavy rains are likely in many parts of the State between August 8 and 11.
According to weather forecast from the Nagaland Sate Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), between August 4 to 7, rain intensity will be less in the State as depression is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal, which will be responsible for pulling the moisture. However, cloudy to overcast sky conditions will remain a highlight across the State.
Citing forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Office, Guwahati, tne NSDMA said after August 7 the atmospheric system will move inland and away from the region and the rains will once again pick up the pace over the State of Nagaland. Between August 8 and 11, heavy rains are likely in many parts of the State. During this time, the southern districts will see more monsoon rains than the northern parts.
The NSDMA advised Governmental departments responsible for roads and other infrastructures and the public to take precautionary measures during the period.
