NSDMA extends Rs 3 crore relief to 579 houses affected by weather fury

Kohima, April 24: Nagaland government has extended relief amounting to Rs 3 crore to 579 houses in five districts of the State.
The relief was extended by through the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) for the houses affected and damaged during the recent hailstorm and thunderstorms that lashed the districts of Kiphire, Tuensang, Peren , Mon and Mokokchung.
During the thunderstorm on April 21 last evening, one person was killed with the strike of lightning in Mon district. In this connection, District Disaster Management Authority Mon extended immediate relief to the deceased family today. The district was also lashed by heavy windstorm the same evening.
Other districts also faced the fury of hailstorm damaging house and crops, while the actual damage caused is yet to be fully estimated, said NSDMA sources. (Page News Service)
