Dimapur, June 13: The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) has congratulated all the 238 women who have filed their nominations for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections under the 33% reservation policy.
“This election scheduled for 26thof June 2024, mark the first implementation of the reservation after a 20 years hiatus. Your participation is a testament to your courage and dedication to public service,” it said.
The NSCW also expressed gratitude to the Government of Nagaland and the people, especially the male counterpart for their unwavering support and cooperation in facilitating the significant move. “By creating opportunities for women to engage actively in political spheres, we are collectively taking monumental steps towards empowering the women of our State and fostering a more inclusive political landscape,” it said.
The commission also wished all success in their political endeavours.
