NSCW tours 3 districts

Dimapur, October 20: The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) led by its chairman Khrienuo Tachü along with members Chongliu and W Nginyeih Konyak had an interactive meeting with ZMO at Peren, Naga Women Hoho at Dimapur and KNSK, Mon. The team had undertaken the tour to listen to the voice of Naga women at their turf.
In the meeting, the NSCW specifically sought strength, weaknesses and suggestive points from women of Peren, Dimapur and Mon districts so that relevant future course of action can be planned.
While in Mon, the team visited Mon Jail, the women section particularly was found to be in order and well kept. The NSCW team also visited the Mon District Hospital and congratulated them on being conferred the Kayakalp Award (2018-19) for cleanliness.
Prior to the tour, Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) were invited by NSCW for their feedback, aspirations and suggestions.
The team said it hopes to visit all district headquarters and collect first hand data on the plight of Naga women so that relevant and pragmatic suggestions can be fed to the Government and other stakeholders for redressal. It also appreciated the women functionaries in the districts visited for having concern and working for women welfare at their best. The team further expressed gratitude to Peren, Dimapur and Mon district authorities for facilitating their visit. (Page News Service)
