NSCN (R) meets CFSB/CFMG chairman

Dimapur, September 7: The NSCN/GPRN (R) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed CFSB/CFMG chairman, Lt. Gen. Shokin Chauhan (Retd) on Friday at Dimapur. The meeting was facilitated through Staff Officer T Mere (Deputy Commandant).
Since the meeting was a courtesy visit, no particular agenda was discussed. However, the chairman expressed desire to work in co-ordination with the NPGs as far as peace is concerned, and said not to hesitate but enlighten/inform him should any problem/s with regard to ceasefire issues crops up, since he was willing to discuss in trying to mitigate or perhaps try to solve problems (if any). He was also of the view that such things are only possible if all stakeholders work hand in hand and in positive co-ordination.
The NSCN (R) also expressed desire for ‘peace’, and assured to lend all possible support with positive enforcement to the yearning and call for peace. It expressed happiness and optimism that a very experienced person like Chauhan with vast knowledge, both within and outside the country and very familiar with the Northeastern states, particularly Nagaland, will bring about positive changes.
The CFSB/CFMG chairman was posted several times to the NE region and also Nagaland, and served under various capacities as Army officer. He also expressed love for the region and people of NE.
The NSCN(R) was represented by Kilonser Viniho Kiho (co-chairman CFSB), Kilonser Newell Achumi (member CFSB), Toshi Longkumer, secretary (CFSB) and MIP (I/c) Amento V Chophi (Tatar), who also presented a traditional Sumi vest coat to the chairman CFSB/CFMG. (Page News Service)
