Dimapur, June 25: The NSCN (R) has regretted the statement of DCCI wherein it accused all NPGs regarding taxation issue.
The NSCN (R) mentioned that its top leaders had directed all members not to impose any shop taxes in and around Dimapur town during the pandemic. It made its stand clear that at no point of time has the Government deputed/assigned any member to collect taxes, owing to the call of the lockdown, rather the NSCN(R) had appreciated the DCCI and other frontline workers for their selfless sacrifices in combating the pandemic threat.
A press release issued by the MIP, NSCN (R) stated that if by any chance any imposter, conmen, incognitos or perhaps some NSCN (R) cadres without the knowledge of the authorities had demanded tax in the name of NSCN (R), then the DCCI should immediately report or make known to the NSCN authorities within 3 days so that stern action would be initiated upon the defaulters as per the Azah, failing which the NSCN (R) would have no option but to take it as an intentional attempt to tarnish the image of the NSCN (R).
The MIP said the NSCN (R) has time and again declared in all public forums and reiterated its positions that it would maintain ‘Zero Tolerance’ to any cadres or unscrupulous elements who unnecessarily harass the public and taints the image of the NSCN (R) and would leave no stone unturned to thwart any such acts.
The outfit said it would continue to adhere to the lockdown call and extend its solidarity to the collective fights against this Pandemic and warned any self-interested NSCN members or other imposters who may take advantage of this situation during these trying times when people are in the survival mode.
