NSCN-K (Nyemlang) attacks SF post at Pangsha

Noklak firing

Kohima, August 15: Armed cadres attacked the security force post at international border, Pangsha Saturday morning, but there was no report of causality from either side.
The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Nyemlang) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. This would be the first attack on security forces after the split of NSCN (K) recently. Sources said cadres are operating along the Pangsha Indo-Myanmar border after the split.
Sources said the incident took place at around 2:10 am this morning, when militants indiscriminately fired on E-Company Post of 45 Assam Rifles in the general area of International Trade Centre (ITC) Dan, Pangsha in Noklak district. Security forces retaliated but the militants managed to escape into the forest.
Administration and police inspected the area and recovered empty shells of automatic rifles and unexploded rocket.
Security forces guarding the borders have been alerted, according to a source.
The area has been transit point for militants for quite some time. (Page News Service)
