NSCN (IM) sticks to flag & constitution demands

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 12: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) reportedly is sticking to its demand for a separate constitution and the flag, against the backdrop of Central Government’s effort to break the deadlock in the Naga peace process.
According a source, the NSCN is firm on the constitution and the flag to seal the final agreement. An NSCN insider also confirmed that they are still unmoved from their two core demands and ruled out agreement without recognition of those two demands.
Today the Union Government’s interlocutor AK Mishra and NSCN leaders, led by Chief Negotiator Thuingaleng Muivah, held a marathon meeting in New Delhi to break the stalemate. Other senior members of NSCN who are currently camping at New Delhi are Chairman Q Tuccu, Vice Chairman Tongmeth Wangnao, among others.
Sources said talks will continue.
On Sunday Naga politicians, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and former CM TR Zeliang, met the NSCN leaders and Mishra on Sunday last. (Page News Service)
