NSCN (IM) refutes AR claims

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 10: The NSCN (IM) has accused the Assam Rifles (AR) of giving out a “false report” that the security forces had recovered a .32 mm pistol during a raid conducted at the residence of one of the Naga group’s cadres on the night of January 9 in Arunachal Pradesh.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the NSCN (IM), MIP, stated that one of its cadres, Panphung Pangsa of Votnu village under Wancho region, Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh, was on medical leave, when the 6th AR raided his house and arrested him at around 9 pm on January 9.
“Nothing incriminating was found with him. But AR gave out a false report that .32 mm pistol was found in his possession along with live rounds with baseless allegations against him,” it stated.
According to the NSCN (IM), ‘a little bit of humanity and sensitivity’ from the Assam Rifles could have gone a long way to avoid any acrimony ‘with the public and the NSCN’. (Page News Service)
