Dimapur, May 30: The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief at the demise of Puni Modoli after undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi.
“He was one Naga social activist who was full of zeal to give his service for the Naga people. He was in banking profession earlier. But, his inclination to go full throttle in the service of his Naga people in Manipur ultimately led to his resignation as General Manager, SBI. Eventually he went on to capture the trust of his Naga people and become the President of UNC (United Naga Council),” said the NSCN (IM) in a condolence message, adding in his death, Nagas have lost a patriotic leader who left his footprints for posterity.
The NSCN expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. (Page News Service)
